  Activities

You can easily fill an entire day with the many activities on offer at Billabong Sanctuary. Once you have paid your entry fee there are no further charges. Holding animals is included, as well as any photographic opportunities (guests use their own camera). Your entry fee allows you access to the entire park which you are free to browse at your own pace or you can participate in the educational talks and interactive shows which run throughout the day. These shows will help you learn a great deal about Australia's native wildlife. Also make sure you don't miss feeding time. Animals including the crowd favourite, the crocodile, are fed at various times of the day. You are also permitted to hand-feed animals like the kangaroos.

Billabong Sanctuary has BBQ facilites so you can enjoy a family BBQ by the pool. Why not try picnic lunch down by the Billabong, or if that doesn't suit you, venture to Blinky Bill Café, relax on the verandah, and choose from light meal options such as fish and chips, sandwiches, pies, pizzas and beverages including tea and coffee, beer and soft drinks.

Make sure you bring your swimmers and cool off in our resort-style pool and don't forget to check out our gift shop, featuring a comprehensive range of souvenirs as well as cameras, film and batteries.

  Native Animals

Billabong Sanctuary is situated on ten hectares of native eucalypt, lush rainforest and tropical wetlands. It is home to over 100 species of native Australian mammals, reptiles and plenty of birds. Most of these animals permanently live at Billabong Sanctuary, but the natural billabong at the centre of the park attracts many species of water birds. Some of the waterbirds even raise their young at the Billabong.

Some of our more popular animals include crocodiles, koalas, cassowaries, wombats, snakes, turtles and kangaroos.
