Townsville has a rich and vibrant nightlife
scene and you will find a good variety of night clubs
to enjoy your night out. Both the locals as well as visitors
frequent popular destinations including Flinders St East,
which is home to the majority of Townsville's night clubs
and within walking distance of each other. Just across
the Ross River, also within walking distance is Palmer
St, which is a favourite with many of the pubs, cafes
and restaurants open till late.
All of the nightclubs in Townsville offer their own unique
style. You will find well decorated interiors, comfortable
seating arrangements, special lighting effects, all styles
of music and the service is good and staff are friendly.
Mad Cow Tavern
With wooden floors, bars and barrels, The Mad
Cow has a fantastic western saloon feel to it.
You can expect o hear music from the 70’s,
80’s, 90’s and today. Downstairs
is the main bar open 7 nights a week and upstairs
is the udder bar, sporting a modern looking
cocktail and piano bar, and is open from 11pm
Friday and Saturday night only. The udder bar

can comfortably cater for approx 200 guests.
The Bank Lounge Bar, is the official after
party venue for The Cowboys Football Team and
The McDonalds Crocodiles Basketball Team. The
Bank Lounge Bar can assist you with your next

Townsville’s old Post Office is now home
to one of Australia’s premier boutique
breweries. The Townsville Brewery is a state
of the art micro-brewery, restaurant, sports
bar, nightclub and Townsvilles largest privately

Jupiters Casino is situated on the Marina overlooking
Magnetic Island. There are plenty of gaming
tables and pokie machines as well as entertainment.
It also house cafes, restaurants and bars as
well as hosting musical and theatre performances.
The Seaview Hotel features 2 bars, the garden
bar and the loft bar, gaming lounge, steak house
and bottle shop. The Seaview if very popular
on Sunday afternoons with the Sunday sesh.
Molly Malones Irish Pub encapsulates the authentic
Irish atmosphere, bringing a considerable slice
of Ireland to Townsville, North Queensland.

Flinders St
Flinders St East is home to many of Townsville's night
clubs and all in walking distance of each other, making
it very popular and very busy at night. Nightclubs include
The Consortium, The Bank Nightclub, Mad Cow, Bullwinkles,
The Cri, Flynns, Molly Malones, Granite Lounge Bar,
Portraits, The Heritage, Monsoons, Level One at The
Brewery and Bartini.
You will find a number of food vendors including pizza
and hotdog stands as well as McDonalds in Flinders Mall
open for late night eating options. The Cri also has
a food outlet and the Heritage serves food till late.
Remeber the 3am lock out applies to all nightclubs,
meaning once you leave any venue after 3am you are not
legally allowed back in. The Taxi Rank is located outside
Monsoons, and opposite the Bank nightclub. Try and avoid
getting a cab between 2.30 and 3.30 as you will have
to line up.Alternatively make sure you have arranged
a designated driver.
Dos and Don'ts

nightclubs and pubs have a 3am lock out. If you leave
the premises after 3am you are not legally allowed back
in.
