The Strand
Whether you are
looking for a place to fish, to exercise,

inner-city beach fronts in Australia, the
Strand offers a pleasantly tranquil atmosphere,
suitable for people of all ages and all interests.
Paluma Rainforest
You will need
at least a whole day to explore and appreciate
Paluma. There are many activities you must
try, including swimming in the crystal clear
mountain streams or bush walking through National
Park and State Forest, and many of the walking
tracks lead to lookouts with magnificent panoramic
views. Do not rush the rainforest walks as
there is an abundance of native fauna and
flora to observe, so keep a keen eye out and
you may see some very rare species!
Yongala Wreck
In 1911 the S.S.
Yongala sank during cyclonic weather, taking
the lives of all 121 passengers. The wreck
remained undiscovered for more than half a
century, creating one of Australia’s
most intriguing maritime mysteries. It was
positively identified in 1958 and has since
become a world-renowned wreck dive, the best
in Australia and among the top 5 wreck dive
sites in the world. The 110 metre long wreck
lies in the middle of a flat, sandy shipping
channel in about 30m of water off Cape Bowling
Green, within the Great Barrier Reef Marine
Park.
Riverway
Situated on the
banks of Ross River is the exciting Riverway
development comprising residential, commercial,
cultural, sports and leisure facilities.
Riverway stretches 11km along the Ross River,
with nodes at Pioneer Park, Loam Island, Apex
Park and the Ross River Dam. There is much
to explore at Riverway including parklands,
the Riverwalk, Pinnacles Gallery, the Riverway
Arts Centre and two huge swimming lagoons.
The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier
Reef is one of the world's most spectacular
destintations and greatest natural wonders,
not only that, it is also the most extensive
structure ever built by living creatures,
even visible from the moon. You must experience
the marine life on display, either above by
boat or below by snorkel or dive! You will
not believe the amazing coral colours and
formations.

No other aquarium in the world maintains a
living coral reef ecosystem on such a scale.

Markets held regularly
throughout North Queensland. Each markets
are unique with items ranging from home made

Billabong Sanctuary
Enjoy a fantastic
day at Billabong Sanctuary and meet some of
Australia's favourite native wildlife. Visitors
are able to wander the entire park at their
own leisure or participate in feeding shows,
daily wildlife talks and many interactive
adventures throughout the day.
Museum of Tropical Queensland
You will be entertained
and enthralled as you explore the multi-award-winning
Museum of Tropical Queensland (MTQ). In a
few hours you will have learned invaluable
information about the history and heritage
of North Queensland.

Cowboys NRL Team
The North Queensland
Cowboys National Rugby League Team was established
in 1994 and has come a long way in its short
history, including a finals appearance in
2005, where they were defeated 36-16 by the
West Tigers.
The Town Common
The Town Common
conservation park is found within a few minutes
drive north from the centre of Townsville
and is a paradise for wildlife watches. The
park has great facilities for viewing wildlife
including wildlife viewing hides and various
observation points. From these points you
can view up to 280 bird species including
flocks of magpie, geese, brolgas, predatory
birds, finches, wrens and cisticolas.
Townsville Night Clubs
Townsville hosts
a vibrant nightlife scene and there are many
night clubs giving you plenty of options for
your night out. Popular destinations include
Flinders St, which is home to the majority
of Townsville's night clubs and within walking
distance of each other. Palmer St is also
a favourite area with many of the cafes and
restaurants open till late.

Townsville so there is always plenty of options
